For Summer 2019, JEP visited the German capital, Berlin. The event began on Thursday with a visit to central Berlin including the Tiergarten, Reichstag and the government quarters, Victory Column, Brandenburg Gate, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, and Hitler’s bunker. On Friday, participants began by remembering the foundations of the Holocaust by visiting Wannsee, before exploring the classical Palace of Potsdam. Vicky Ross introduced the group to a “secret enemy” when dating someone new during Shabbat, before a late evening party allowing guests to celebrate the fun summer evening. The event then finished on Sunday with a tour of the pre-war Jewish Bavarian quarter and Jewish Heritage of Berlin.
